Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its response. Floyd County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept long enough to review and answer it. The message remains within our operation unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive routine technical information about that visit:
- Your device's assigned IP address
- The browser name and version in use
- Operating system and general device category
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- A referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time associated with a page request

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Floyd County Criminal History does not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies official custodians, including the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, county courts, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Government Code Chapter 411 limits criminal-history record information and authorizes defined public access, while the Texas Public Information Act in Government Code Chapter 552 governs requests to public bodies. Visitor data collected here is not turned into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search-box functions. Information submitted through a box is handled under that provider's privacy terms rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to a sheriff, a court portal, a Texas agency, a legal-aid resource, or an outside search provider. Once you follow an external link, the destination's privacy terms control the visit. Read them before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across more than one website to select ads. That processing occurs through the provider's systems and policies.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may nevertheless be available to:
- Outside search providers processing a submitted query
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving content on these pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect information collected through the site. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so a loss, breach, or unauthorized access can never be ruled out completely.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and personal information from a person under 18 is not knowingly collected. If such information is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Depending on its scope and exemptions, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act in Business & Commerce Code Chapter 541 may provide additional rights concerning personal data. Requests may include the following:
- Request access to personal information held about you
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal information
